Privacy Policy for GA4 Stats Stream Deck Plugin

Effective Date: June 18, 2026

Last Updated: June 18, 2026

This privacy policy governs your use of the GA4 Stats Stream Deck plugin (the “Application”), developed by Andrew Smith (“we”, “us”, or “our”). The Application allows users to view their Google Analytics 4 (GA4) data—including real-time users, pageviews, trends, and key events—directly on their Elgato Stream Deck hardware keys.

We take your privacy very seriously. Please read this policy carefully to understand how your data is handled.

1. Information Collection and Storage

No Server-Side Storage

We do not operate any external backend servers for this Application. We do not collect, harvest, store, or transmit your personal information, Google account credentials, or Google Analytics data to ourselves or to any third parties.

Local Data Storage

All data transmission occurs directly between your local device and the Google API.

  • Authentication Tokens: When you authorize the Application via OAuth2, the resulting access and refresh tokens are stored securely and locally on your computer within the Elgato Stream Deck software environment.
  • Analytics Data: Any data fetched from the Google Analytics 4 API (such as active user counts or pageview metrics) is processed locally in memory to render the plugin’s visual elements (such as text displays and sparkline SVGs) and is never saved persistently or shared.

2. Google API Data Disclosure & Usage

The Application interacts with Google APIs to retrieve your analytics data.

Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance

The Application’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

  • We request read-only access (analytics.readonly) strictly to display your metrics on your Stream Deck device.
  • We do not use, transfer, share, or sell your Google API data for advertising purposes, user profiling, or any third-party marketing tools.

3. Data Security

Because all authentication tokens and analytics metrics are stored exclusively on your local device, the security of your data depends entirely on the security of your personal computer. We recommend:

  • Keeping your operating system and the Elgato Stream Deck software up to date.
  • Securing your local machine against unauthorized access.

4. Third-Party Services

While the Application itself does not collect or track your data, it interacts with third-party ecosystems required for its operation:

  • Google Cloud Platform / Google Analytics 4: Subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • Elgato Stream Deck Marketplace: Subject to Elgato’s privacy practices regarding plugin distribution.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted directly to this page, and the “Effective Date” at the top will be updated accordingly. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
